Medical Billing and Authorization Specialist
We are looking for a dedicated Medical Billing and Authorization Specialist to join our outpatient physical therapy office in Sarasota, FL. This in-office position offers flexible hours and is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking a change of pace, more work-life balance, and the potential for growth. Benefits and PTO will be determined once the role transitions to full-time.
Compensation Package
20–$30 Per Hour, Based on Experience

Job Responsibilities
Verify Eligibility and Benefits, Collect Information Related to Deductible, Copay, and Coinsurance Amounts, and Contact Patients With Amount Due
Obtain Authorizations and Provide Necessary Information to the Primary Care Physician (PCP) for Referrals as Required
Collect and Update Demographics and Patient Information as Necessary
Respond to Billing Inquiries
Assist Patients With Eligibility and Benefit Questions
Requirements
In-Office Position
Excellent Computer Skills
Strong Attention to Detail and Ability to Multitask
Excellent Organizational and Clerical Skills
Strong Follow-Through and Logical Problem-Solving Abilities
Knowledge of Current Billing Practices Utilizing CPT and ICD-10 Coding and Modifiers
Familiarity With HMO, PPO, Commercial, and Workers’ Compensation Insurances
Ability to Read and Understand Insurance EOBs
Knowledge of EMR and Billing Software
