UAV Operator with a strong background in Surveying to support aerial data collection, processing, and IT infrastructure support. This hybrid role is ideal for someone passionate about drones, data, and solving real-world problems with cutting-edge technology.
You'll operate drones for field missions, handle data uploads and processing, and work with our IT team to maintain and optimize related systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planned, prepared, and executed UAV flights for aerial surveys, mapping, and measured cuts/fills/stockpiles.
- Ensure compliance with FAA regulations and company safety protocols (Part 107 certified).
- Perform drone maintenance and software updates.
- Capture and manage aerial data, process imagery, and create deliverables using processing tools.
- Integrate UAV data into internal IT systems.
- Process and analyze drone data using photogrammetry and GIS software.
- Collaborate with IT and project teams to ensure seamless workflows and support.
Required:
- FAA Part 107 Certification
- Proven experience operating drones (commercial, industrial, or survey applications)
- Strong IT skills: experience with networking, system integration, or basic scripting (SQL preferred)
- Familiarity with drone mapping and data processing software
- Ability to travel to project sites as needed; vehicles will be provided
- 2 years of UAV piloting, preferably in a civil construction or heavy civil environment
- Background or certification in Information Technology, GIS, Surveying, or a related field
- Familiarity with civil construction documentation, grading plans, and as-built workflows
- Knowledge of telemetry systems and flight automation tools
- Detail-oriented and safety-conscious
- Tech-savvy and eager to work on both hardware and digital systems
- Work independently in the field and collaborate virtually with a cross-functional team
