Join our internal team as a Accounting Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all financial processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Monthly Close: Prepare and execute the monthly close process, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported.
- Account Reconciliations: Perform regular reconciliations of various accounts to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Tax Accruals: Calculate and record tax accruals to ensure compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
- Monthly Financial Statement Creation: Prepare and distribute monthly financial statements, providing insights and analysis to senior management.
- Payroll Tax Filings: Handle all payroll tax filings in a timely and accurate manner, adhering to local, state, and federal requirements.
- Payroll Tax Reconciliations: Reconcile payroll tax accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.
- Tax Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve tax issues and discrepancies, working closely with tax authorities as needed.
- Journal Entry Creation: Create and post weekly and monthly journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.
- Ad Hoc Reporting: Provide ad hoc financial reporting and analysis as requested by management.
- Expense Analysis: Analyze and report on company expenses, identifying trends and areas for cost reduction.
- Job Costing: Assist in job costing processes, ensuring accurate allocation of costs to various projects.
- Treasury Functions: Assist finance and payroll departments in various treasury functions including cash management and account research activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and tax regulations at the local, state, and federal levels.
- Experience in Monthly closing and balance sheet account reconciliation
- Familiarity with payroll tax compliance and processes.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles with a focus on areas like tax compliance, payroll, and financial reporting.
- Experience in payroll tax filing and reconciliation is essential.Experience with job costing and treasury functions is a strong plus.
- Experience with Power BI highly desired
