Material Handler/Forklift Operator

Position Summary
Responsible for assisting in yard maintenance, shipping, receiving, inventory of materials and other duties as required while maintaining the operations and appearance of Integrity Steel Supply LLC’s shop and yard.

Responsibilities

• Build loads for delivery.
• Assist in the loading and unloading materials when delivered
• Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and keeping materials and supplies in stock, recording the location of inventory, and reporting shortages.
• Operate forklift & overhead cranes.
• Collects and properly disposes of dunnage, and strapping; maintains a safe and clean work environment. Maintain a clean, well-organized, and safe yard.
• Reads work orders or follows verbal instructions to ascertain materials to be moved.
• Loads materials, supplies, and finished goods (manually and/or using forklift and/or crane).
• Ensures orderly distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies where needed, and staging finished product final distribution.
• Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
• Confirms shipping details or special instructions; expedites shipments that affect the manufacturing process schedule.
• Documents product shipment by recording materials shipped.
• Prepares finished material for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, loading, and securing product.
• Reviews shipments for quality and accuracy; reviews accompanying documents for accuracy.
• When problems arise, resolve issues with management.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
One to three years general labor experience
Forklift certification

• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
• WIllingness to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
