Responsible for overseeing the procurement process of goods and services for the company, including researching suppliers, negotiating contracts, managing inventory levels, and ensuring the best quality products are obtained at the most competitive price, while aligning with company needs and budget constraints; essentially acting as the primary point of contact for sourcing and purchasing materials necessary for business operations. Hours are Monday - Thursday 7:00 am to 4:30 pm and Fridays from 7:00 am to 11:00 am.
Responsibilities
- Supplier evaluation and selection, Identify, research, and evaluate potential supplies based on price, quality, delivery time and reliability.
- Contract negotiation, negotiate purchase agreements with vendors to secure the best pricing and terms.
- Inventory management, monitor inventory levels and forecast future needs to avoid stockouts and overstocking.
- Cost optimization, analyzing spending patterns, and identifying opportunities to reduce costs without compromising quality.
- Quality control, ensure purchased goods meet quality standards and specifications.
- Supplier relationship management, building and maintaining positive relationships with key suppliers.
- Document control.
Requirements
- Three to five years of related experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in purchasing or procurement roles.
- Experience managing supplier relationships.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- The ability to analyze data to identify cost-saving opportunities and make informed decisions.
- Strong understanding of industry trends and suppliers
- Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers
- Knowledge of purchasing and inventory management software.
