Quality Control Technician – Job Description

The following job description defines the duties, knowledge, skills and abilities that are necessary to perform the role of Quality Control Technician.

Hours : 7 : 00AM - 3 : 30PM M-F

DUTIES :

Adhere to all Safety Rules at all times.
Auditing and Scanning documents for upload.
Program Video Coordinate Measuring Machine (VCMM) to measure parts (Training will be provided)
Assist other departments with VCMM usage
Perform monthly Dock Audits
Perform monthly Manufacturing Process Audits
Complete First Article / AS-9102 paperwork
May complete PPAP / paperwork
Perform sorts / inspections of finished parts and raw materials.

SKILLS & ABILITIES :

Associates degree in science or technology – preferred.

Understanding of GDT and CAD systems a plus

Needs good verbal and non-verbal communication skills in order to work with others.

Must be trainable and the ability to retain information so as to enable and enhance cross training requirements.

Must have the ability to visually inspect details of a part (“attention-to-detail”).

Must be able to discern, sort, and separate quality conforming parts from non-conforming parts and follow the non-conformance quarantine procedure.

Needs the skill to manage time in order to complete the job assignment in a timely manner.

Must be able to multi-task, interacting with other departments to support their needs.

Experience with spreadsheets is helpful.

Needs understanding of basic statistics (Histogram, Average, Standard Deviation, etc.).

Familiarity with Control Plans, FMEAs and Flow Diagrams is helpful
