GENERAL JOB SUMMARY: The Electrician shall be responsible for performing a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Installation and repair of a variety of electrical equipment, such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment.
- Perform work from drawings, layouts, blueprints, or other specifications, locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment.
- Test electrical currents or components for continuity, using electrical test equipment.
- Must be proficient in bending and installing conduit.
- Inspect and test systems to verify system compliance with plans and specifications or to detect and locate malfunctions.
- Comply with all applicable standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures.
- Maintain the general cleanliness and appearance of assigned spaces.
- Assist others as part of the maintenance team, as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: This position requires no supervisor or manager responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
- Must maintain a Georgia Electrician Non-Restricted and Low Voltage License.
- Seven (7) years of related experience with facility electrical systems maintenance functions, environmental factors, and related procedures.
- Must have knowledge of standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.
- Must have knowledge of equipment, materials, methods, practices, and tools used in the electrical field.
- Must have a working knowledge of and comply with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
- Must be a self-starter, team player, detail oriented, and possess strong organizational skills.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and driving history must meet company standards throughout employment.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and a background check as a condition of employment and to obtain access to federal installations.
