What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Manager position at Intek Plastics?
Primary Objective of Position:
The Project Manager is responsible for all aspects of the project lifecycle including planning, scope definition, budget, design, execution, and delivery; and will be the primary owner of our internal product and/or material commercialization process from end-to-end across all facilities.
Major Areas of Responsibility:Project Planning and Execution:
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation, in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Coordinate project activities and resources to ensure smooth execution and timely completion.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or delays, and implement corrective actions as needed to keep projects on track.
- Assists with the selection, negotiation, and managing of all activities regarding external consultants or vendors.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders, external vendors, and customers regarding project updates, issues, and resolutions.
- Foster a collaborative and transparent work environment by facilitating communication and information sharing among team members and stakeholders.
- Conduct regular project meetings to review progress, address concerns and/or scope creep and gather feedback from team members.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Ensure that all projects adhere to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and Intek Plastics' quality assurance protocols.
- Implement quality control measures throughout the project lifecycle to minimize defects and ensure the delivery of high-quality products to customers.
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to conduct inspections, audits, and tests as necessary to verify product integrity and compliance.
Budgeting and Cost Management:
- Develop project budgets and forecasts, ensuring that all expenditures are accounted for and aligned with financial objectives.
- Monitor project expenses and resource utilization to identify cost-saving opportunities and prevent budget overruns.
- Work closely with the Finance department to track project costs, analyze variances, and provide accurate financial reporting.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency enhancement within the project management framework.
- Implement best practices, tools, and methodologies to optimize project delivery and enhance overall organizational effectiveness.
- Encourage a culture of continuous learning and development among project team members to foster innovation and professional growth.
- Supports Intek Plastics policies and procedures and conducts departmental and company activities in accordance with these policies.
- Every employee is expected to support the Intek Plastics, Inc. QMS in accordance with our Quality System Manual and documented procedures.
- Additional duties as assigned by Quality Manager.
Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.
- 5 years of experience managing projects in a manufacturing environment desired.
- Certification in Project Management is preferred.

- Demonstrated project management competency, with successful completions within designated timelines.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, infrastructure and techniques.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with and influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a proactive approach to risk management.
- Commitment to upholding high standards of quality, safety, and compliance in all aspects of project execution.
Responsibility for Work of Others
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Salaried (exempt) employees are expected to work an average of 45 or more hours per week unless otherwise determined by their Manager.
