This role is within Intel’s Client Computing Group. CCG is a computing paradigm where services and data reside in scalable data centers, and those services and data can be accessed by any connected device over the Internet. Responsible for designing and optimizing processors, chipsets and other hardware for consumer devices while also working on the software ecosystem, including drivers and utilities that enhance user experience.

Come join Intel's Client Computing Group for an internship in machine learning and data engineering. In this internship you will work with our engineers to design, train, and evaluate machine learning models that will be used to improve performance and power on Intel's newest laptop platforms. Through this internship you will gain experience in model selection, data curation and classification, model training, and developing data pipelines to collect and analyze data from cloud-based sources.

Responsibilities may be quite diverse of a nonexempt technical nature. U.S. experience and education requirements will vary significantly depending on the unique needs of the job. Job assignments are usually for the summer or for short periods during breaks from school.

This is a full-time, Hybrid, 3-month internship, targeting a start date of Summer 2025. Intern must be able to be on-site in Hillsboro Oregon, Folsom California, or Santa Clara California weekly.

This position is not eligible for employment-based visa / immigration sponsorship. Intel sponsors individuals for employment-based visas for positions where we experience a shortage of US Workers. These skills shortage roles are typically STEM contributing positions requiring a Master's or PhD degree, or a Bachelor’s degree with at least three years of post-degree related job experience. This position does not qualify for Intel Sponsorship because it is either (1) a non-STEM contributing position, or (2) a STEM position that only requires a Bachelor’s degree and less than three years’ experience.

Qualifications

This is an internship position and will be compensated accordingly. You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Experience would be obtained through a combination of prior education level classes, and current level school classes, projects, and research. :

What we need to see (Minimum Qualifications) :

Must be pursuing a BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Machine Learning Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or any STEM related degree

6 months of programming experience through your course work and independent projects

6 months of knowledge or experience working in both Microsoft Windows and Linux

6 months of knowledge or experience of these programming languages : Python, Go, C#, JavaScript, or C 3 months of knowledge or experience training different types of machine learning models, such as : generative models, computer vision models, graph-based models, neural networks, or deep-learning models

3 months of knowledge or experience with Git and GitHub or GitLab

Requirements listed would be obtained through a combination of industry relevant job experience, internship experiences and or schoolwork / classes / research.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US $40,000.00-$108,000.00 (Hourly Role)

• Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience

Working Model

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
