The Internal Risk Analyst is responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks within the organization, focusing on both processes and technological projects.
The ideal candidate will work on projects aimed at reducing our exposure to various risks, improving operational efficiency, and enhancing productivity. To succeed in this role, you must have a strong knowledge of business processes, an excellent understanding of risk control, and the ability to adapt to a rapidly growing company. Most importantly, the successful candidate will have a strong background in auditing or several years of experience in various fields, coupled with a curious and driven personality to ensure the success of their role.
Risk Identification and Assessment
- Understand the current financial processes, both accounting and operational to identify potential risks that could impact the organization.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize exposure.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of risk mitigation efforts.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of all risk management activities in a clear and organized manner.
- Participate in projects to identify and assess risks associated with new initiatives and technological advancements.
Compliance Monitoring
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and external regulations.
- Conduct regular reviews to ensure adherence to compliance standards.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes and ensure the organization adapts accordingly.
Collaboration and Support
- Work closely with various departments and projects to ensure a cohesive approach to risk management and compliance.
- Provide support to staff on risk management and compliance best practices.
- Seek and incorporate continuous feedback from stakeholders.
Qualifications and requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in accounting sciences.
- CPA title.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in risk management, compliance, or internal audit.
- Strong skills in analysis and problem solving.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Curious, critical thinker and motivating personality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable in a rapidly changing environment.
Technical skills
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PWP, etc.).
- Excel Level - Intermediate: Pivot Table, Formulas (If, Sum.if, Concat).
