The Operational Business Analysis team is responsible for ensuring that Intelcom's station and hub operational needs are met through effective use of technology, driving continuous feature enhancements, and facilitating seamless communication between cross-functional teams
The Manager of Business Analysis is thus a key leadership role within Intelcom, responsible for managing a team of business analysts who act as liaisons between the operations and technology teams. This strategic and results-driven Manager will oversee the team's operations, ensuring that the company's operational technologies are effectively delivered and aligned with business strategy. The manager will make critical decisions and be accountable for the implementation and performance of operational platforms that support Intelcom’s transportation operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both operations and technology, with strong leadership and project management skills. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and analysis skills, a deep understanding of operational processes, and the ability to translate complex problems into simple requirements.
Job Summary: The Manager of Operations Business Analysis will play a pivotal role in managing a team of Business Analysts responsible for bridging the gap between the operations and technology teams at Intelcom.
- Act as the primary liaison and decision maker between the operations and technology teams to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction
- Lead and manage a team of business analysts ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Monitor project progress, manage risks, and ensure timely delivery of project milestones
- Oversee the analysis, solutioning, documentation, implementation and improvement of technology platforms used in daily operations, including but not limited to:
- Transportation management systems for middle mile and last mile operations.
- Mobile applications such as the Driver App, the Station mobile app
- Route Optimization software and methodologies (for last mile and middle mile routes)
- Sorting and automation equipment and software as well as sorting logic and methodologies (manual and automated)
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address operational requirements and challenges.
- Prioritize operational projects based on needs and business strategic goals.
- Manage and mentor a team of business analysts, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.
- Develop and manage relationships with Operations leadership as well as other department heads
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of operational technologies, ensuring they meet performance standards.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to operational technology systems and processes
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to keep the company at the forefront of innovation and operational efficiency
- Facilitate regular meetings and communications between operations and technology teams to foster collaboration and address issues promptly.
- Manage budgets and resources related to technology projects and operations, ensuring efficient use of resources and timely project completion.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Operations Management, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Proven track record (10 years) in successfully leading complex operational technology projects or a similar role within the transportation or logistics industry within logistics.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate teams, with strong interpersonal and communication skills and a strong focus on team development and performance management.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of transportation and logistics operations, including transportation management systems (TMS) and regulatory compliance, including but not limited to:
- Knowledge of middle mile transportation operations as well as hub to spoke, hub to delivery station, Transit station to delivery station topologies
- Knowledge of last mile transportation operations and managing parcel delivery attempts and exceptions
- Understand system integration and diagrams as an enabler for understanding how technology supports operations.
- Communication skills: Proficient verbal written and non-verbal communication to enable the communication of clear, articulate ideas, ask relevant questions, and actively listen to gather valuable insights and ensure a complete understanding of the stakeholders' perspectives.
- Critical Thinking and Decision-Making skills: Ability to make decisions, sometimes on the fly while weighing considerable risk
- Negotiation skills: to successfully deal with conflicting interests, expectations, and requirements from various stakeholders.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to envision the big picture while managing intricate details, leveraging data-driven insights to inform decision-making.
- Change Management Expertise: Deep understanding of change management principles and methodologies, with a history of driving cultural and organizational change.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, adept at interpreting data and trends to drive actionable insights and outcomes.
- Business Analysis Skills: Ability to listen to stakeholder requests, understand gaps, envision improvements and present clear concise requirements
