Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Medical-Surgical Nursing to lead and oversee the daily operations of our Med-Surg department. This leadership role involves managing nursing staff, ensuring high-quality patient care, maintaining compliance with hospital policies, and driving process improvements. The Director of Med-Surg will collaborate with hospital administration, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes and optimize departmental efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Med-Surg nursing department.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure high standards of patient care.
- Oversee recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and professional development of Med-Surg nursing staff.
- Monitor patient care quality, safety standards, and compliance with regulatory guidelines (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS).
- Manage department budgets, resource allocation, and cost-effective operations.
- Foster a positive work environment that promotes staff engagement, retention, and teamwork.
- Collaborate with physicians, hospital leadership, and other departments to improve patient care processes.
- Evaluate and implement evidence-based practices to enhance patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
- Address and resolve patient concerns, staff conflicts, and operational challenges.
- Lead initiatives to improve patient satisfaction scores and clinical performance metrics.
What qualifications you will need:
- at least 2-3 years of RECENT ACUTE CARE Manager level experience Open to any adult inpatient experience from an acute hospital setting
- Bachelors Degree REQUIRED
- Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Registered Nurse, or Advance Nurse Practitioner
Compensation: $105,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
