Job Description
This state-owned psychiatric hospital operates 24/7, providing inpatient care for adults 18 and older. The hospital has 613 beds and serves clients committed to the hospital by the state or through the criminal justice system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess resident complaints and determine action, notifying supervisor when necessary.
- Administer oral and/or injectable medication and controlled medications in accordance with facility policy.
- Prepare paperwork as required for consults within the facility and outside appointments.
- Provide emergency medical/psychiatric treatment within scope of practice as defined by the facility and Florida law.
Requirements:
- CPR certification is required; training will be provided if needed.
- Able to complete full orientation at time of hire.
- Must remain alert while on duty, working up to 16-hour shifts on occasion.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to speak and understand English.
- Ability to pass a level 2 fingerprinting.
- Ability to stay alert for up to a 16-hour shift.
