Job Title: 3D Printing Engineer
Location: Raynham, MA (Onsite)
Duration: 6 Months
Position Overview:
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of hands-on experience in operating, maintaining, and qualifying advanced 3D printing equipment. This role involves developing end-to-end 3D printing processes, from concept to final product, ensuring high-quality prints and optimizing workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operating and Maintaining 3D Printers: Set up, operate, and maintain various 3D printing equipment to ensure they produce high-quality parts.
- Preparing Digital Models: Utilize CAD software (SolidWorks or equivalent) to create or modify 3D models, optimize print settings, and prepare models for printing.
- Post-Processing: Clean, sand, polish, or apply finishes to 3D printed parts to meet specifications and desired functionality.
- Process Development and Optimization: Develop and optimize the entire 3D printing process, including material selection, printing techniques, and post-processing workflows.
- Quality Control: Perform inspections and quality checks on printed parts to ensure they meet design and functional specifications.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve any issues that occur during the 3D printing process, including print failures or material problems.
- Compliance and Documentation: Develop and execute process validation strategies, including Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), Performance Qualification (PQ), and other necessary documentation.
- Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with other departments, including vendors, engineering teams, and quality teams, to ensure all aspects of the 3D printing process are optimized and compliant with industry standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 4-6 years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering, with a strong focus on 3D printing (metal printing preferred).
- Experience in process qualifications and project management.
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Proficiency with SolidWorks or other 3D modeling software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Previous experience with metal 3D printing and tensile testing.
