Role: Brake Line Engineer
Location: Southfield, MI--Onsite
Years of Experience: grade 7 = 2 years with Bachelors, 0 years with advanced degree
Description:
As a Brakes Line Engineer, you will help develop braking components and technologies in production vehicles.
Role:
- Design and develop brake line components from initial concept to production, this may also include calipers, rotors, booster, modulator, fluid reservoirs, pedal box, hoses, pipes, harnesses, brackets
- Establish requirements for components based on desired system attributes
- Work closely with both internal teams and external suppliers, using creativity and teamwork to integrate components in the most efficient way possible
- Design with excellence, with great attention to every detail
- Coordinate virtual engineering and physical validation testing activities for your designs
- Manage multiple complex projects in a demanding environment
- Contribute to technology roadmaps for future vehicles
Qualifications:
- 2 years of automotive industry experience, focus on braking system design
- Personally designed brake components from concept to production
- Proven 3D CAD skills
- Hands-on practical experience in prototype assembly
- Experience in technology, system, and supplier selection
- Design release engineering experience, including engineering change management and project management experience
- Ability to Travel domestically and internationally
Advantageous:
- Experience and proficiency with CATIA V5/V6
Education:
- BS/BEng or MS/MEng, or equivalent experience, in Mechanical Engineering or similar
