Essential Functions
- Calibrate and troubleshoot complex production, laboratory, and facility systems to ensure they meet manufacturer specifications and SOPs.
- Draft and revise SOPs for the calibration of various instruments and laboratory equipment.
- Investigate and document any ‘out of tolerance’ conditions related to instrumentation.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior Calibration Technicians.
- Execute calibration work orders and manage engineering change controls within set timelines.
- Liaise with calibration contractors to guarantee compliance with FBDT SOPs and cGMP standards, keeping the facility’s technology at the forefront.
- Organize and maintain calibration records, work orders, and investigation documents using the site CMMS and Document Management Systems.
- Adhere to all regulatory requirements from agencies such as FDA, OSHA, and EPA.
- Promote and maintain a safe working environment, following all safety SOPs and wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.
- Collaborate on special projects with project managers, technical services, or equipment owners.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned.
- Associate’s degree in a related field with at least 5 years of calibration experience, including a minimum of 4 years in a cGMP or FDA-regulated environment; OR
- High School Diploma or equivalent military training with at least 7 years of calibration experience, including a minimum of 6 years in a cGMP or FDA-regulated environment or a biotech facility; OR
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field with at least 3 years of calibration experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a cGMP or FDA-regulated environment.

Required Skills & Abilities
- Comprehensive understanding of calibration and documentation standards for cGMP manufacturing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Capability to work efficiently and autonomously in a fast-paced setting.
- Demonstrated experience with CMMS, PLC, Delta V, and SCADA systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience in the start-up and commissioning of cGMP facilities.
- Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, and stretch for prolonged periods.
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination sufficient to operate office equipment.
- Normal vision range.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
- Climb ladders and stairs of various heights.
- Work in wet or humid conditions and be exposed to outdoor weather and noisy environments.
