Role: Research Scientist II (Technical writer)
Location: South Portland, ME
Duration: 6 Months on W2 (Contract only)

Role: Research Scientist II (Technical writer)
Location: South Portland, ME
Duration: 6 Months on W2 (Contract only)
Shift Details
- Part-time role (Any time from 8 am - 5 pm EST)
- 100% Onsite role, 20 to 25 hrs/week.
- Local candidates needed.
- The role involves a specific regulatory project focused on technical writing.
- Strong Technical writing skills are required.
- Experience in diagnostics or regulatory writing is highly preferred.
- Specific experience with in vitro diagnostic regulation (IDR) is a plus but not required.
- Experience in diagnostics or rapid diagnostics, ideally in human diagnostics.
- Must have Problem-solving skills.
- Good Communication skills are needed for this role.
- The project is short-term, ending at the end of the year.
- Familiarity with document control systems (preferably Agile) is a plus.
- Work involves writing technical documents related to regulatory submissions.
- Candidates with extensive industry experience in diagnostics or regulatory writing may be considered even if slightly underqualified.
- Candidates with prior experience at Abbott, particularly at Abbott Scarborough, are highly preferred.
- Experience at IDEXX, a large veterinary rapid diagnostic test company located in Westbrook, is also considered valuable.
- No lab work involved.
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of five years experience: a combination of academic and industry experience; must have at least 2 to 3 years of industry experience.
- Can be conducted via video or phone or in-person (candidate must be prepared for anything).
