Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Richmond, VA (REMOTE)

Job Description:

This role supports the design and development of Low Voltage (LV) Switchgear Systems.

The successful candidate will bring proven expertise in the mechanical design of electrical enclosures, with strong proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and Vault, along with a solid understanding of industry standards and design release protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop mechanical components and layouts for LV switchgear systems.
• Create detailed panel and busbar layouts using Autodesk Inventor.
• Manage design documentation and version control through Autodesk Vault.
• Ensure designs comply with UL standards including UL891 and UL1558.
• Participate in design reviews and support product release activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality deliverables.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in the electrical or switchgear industry.
• Advanced proficiency with Autodesk Inventor and Vault.
• Hands-on experience with panel layout and busbar design.
• Knowledge of UL standards relevant to switchgear (UL891, UL1558).
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to design excellence.
