Job Title : Senior Microbiologist
Location : Indianapolis, IN (100% Onsite)
Duration : 12 Months
Job Summary :
The Microbiologist will serve as a technical lead, supporting microbiology projects, interacting with customers, and ensuring smooth execution of testing activities. This role involves method development, microbiological testing, equipment qualification, documentation, and mentoring junior analysts.
Key Responsibilities :
Develop and validate microbiological methods for sterile and non-sterile pharmaceutical products.
Conduct routine microbiological testing (e.g., sterility, antibiotic potency, microbial examination).
Communicate with internal teams and external customers to ensure project timelines and deliverables.
Review and verify analytical data, generate Certificates of Analysis, and document results per SOPs.
Investigate laboratory deviations and maintain compliance with cGMP regulations.
Perform equipment calibration, maintenance, and qualification.
Provide technical guidance and function as a backup to the manager when needed.
Qualifications : Education :
BS in Microbiology (or related field) 6 years of experience OR
MS in Microbiology (or related field) 4 years of experience
Skills :
Strong leadership and project management abilities.
Experience in a microbiology lab with cGMP knowledge.
Proficiency in scientific reasoning, data interpretation, and instrument troubleshooting.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
