Role : Supplier Development Quality Engineer
Location : Westford, MA - 1886
Duration : 12 Months
Shift Timings : 8 am to 5 pm
100% Onsite Role .
Key Skills :
Strong background in supplier quality engineering.
Ability to collaborate with R&D, Design, and Operations teams.
Proficient in supplier process validations and material qualifications.
Experience in problem-solving and root cause analysis on production lines.
Understanding of control plans, material specifications, and process verification.
Excellent communication skills for effective supplier interactions.
Project / Product Overview :
Support the launch of a new hardware product within the next 12–18 months.
Collaborate with suppliers to qualify new materials and specifications.
Manage process validations and conduct supplier quality assessments.
Address supplier-related production line issues.
Handle change management for supplier notifications.
Software Requirements :
Experience with Windchill (for specifications and drawings), SAP (for material transactions), and Viewpoint (for procedures) is a plus.
Familiarity with CAPA and change order management systems is preferred, but training will be provided.
Industry Background Preferences :
Preferred experience in Medical Device, Electronics, or Manufacturing industries.
Must have hands-on experience working with hardware components such as PCBs, cables, wire assemblies, injection-molded plastics, and sheet metal parts.
Candidates from unrelated industries (e.g., Food) may not be a strong fit.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities :
Qualify new materials and ensure supplier compliance with specifications.
Conduct process capability studies and process verifications.
Drive control plans and material qualifications with suppliers.
Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for production issues.
Manage supplier notifications related to changes in manufacturing sites or materials.
Ensure proper documentation and regulatory compliance.
Education and Experience :
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Preferred).
Minimum Experience : 2–3 years in supplier quality engineering or a related field.
Must have hands-on experience in material qualification and supplier process validation.
Candidates with a Master’s or Ph.D. are welcome, provided they are comfortable with the hands-on nature of the role.
