Location: Near Corporate Office (Travel up to 75% required)

Reports to: Chief Fossil Officer (CFO)

About the Role:

We are looking for a Vice President of East Asset Management to lead the strategy and operations of fossil power generation assets within the PJM region. This role is critical in driving the profitability and operational performance of fossil assets, reporting directly to the Chief Fossil Officer. As VP, you will be responsible for managing the P&L of assets, implementing best practices, and ensuring safety and environmental compliance. This position also offers a growth opportunity, with the potential to transition into the CFO role within 12-18 months.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and optimize the performance of PJM fossil assets, focusing on safety, operational efficiency, and profitability.
• Collaborate with plant managers, commercial teams, and key stakeholders to improve performance and streamline day-to-day operations.
• Oversee asset P&L, including budgeting, forecasting, and driving business objectives.
• Develop and execute strategic plans, including capital and operating budgets, while effectively managing resources to meet both financial and operational targets.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations, while managing and negotiating contractual agreements related to fuel, electrical interconnections, water procurement, and property leases.
• Foster relationships and engage with plant teams, leadership, and external stakeholders to advance business goals.
• Analyze market trends, regulatory changes, and their impact on asset performance, providing sound recommendations to senior leadership.
• Champion initiatives and projects aimed at improving profitability and supporting long-term business growth.
• Collaborate with finance, accounting, and risk teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in asset management and/or operation and maintenance of large fossil-fueled power plants, with at least 10 years in progressively responsible management roles (minimum of 5 years in an asset management role).
• Proven success in managing large-scale power generation assets, maximizing cash flow, and overseeing facility operations.
• Deep understanding of PJM energy and capacity markets, including their regulatory frameworks.
• Strong leadership abilities with experience managing plant operations, personnel (union and non-union), and cross-functional teams.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Ability to make sound decisions based on complex commercial and regulatory factors.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
• Bachelor's Degree in engineering, business, or a related field. An MBA or advanced business degree is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
• Ability to travel up to 75% to support business objectives and oversee assets.
