What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Fraud Modeler position at Intelletec?
Intelletec has partnered with a leading fintech in the small busiess lending space as they grow their Modeling team.
The Sr. Statistical Modeler within Fraud Originations will lead and conduct key analyses and statistical modeling that will yield demonstrable impact for team.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze Fraud Trends and Patterns: Use statistical techniques to identify patterns, correlations, and anomalies in historical origination and transaction data to understand common fraud behaviors.
- Develop Statistical Models: Build fraud detection models using techniques like logistic regression, clustering, and time-series analysis to predict the likelihood of fraudulent activity.
- Perform Feature Selection and Engineering: Identify key variables and create derived features that enhance the predictive power of fraud models.
- Create Fraud Risk Scores: Design scoring mechanisms based on statistical models to rank and prioritize potentially fraudulent applications or transactions for manual review or automated decisioning.
Requirements:
- M.S. degree or higher in Statistics, Math, or equivalent quantitative field
- Extensive experience building predictive models (including linear and logistic regression, decision trees, random forest, and gradient boosting) in Python
- 5-10 years of experience building multiple fraud detection models for use in the Originations process
- Very strong written and oral communication skills, with proven ability to translate complex modeling results and present to a non-technical audience
