The Director, Field Training & Effectiveness will lead strategy, design, development, approval, execution, delivery, and evaluation of product training, and selling skills.
This role will serve as a subject matter expert for the disease and product assigned and requires strong understanding of adult learning principles, training facilitation, content creation, and learning platforms.
This role will partner closely with commercial operations, sales, market access, and marketing teams to translate brand and business strategy into an engaging and motivating learning curriculum aiming to build a best in industry customer facing team that communicates with knowledge, and confidence and builds Intellia’s credibility with various external stakeholders.

The Director, Field Training & Effectiveness will lead strategy, design, development, approval, execution, delivery, and evaluation of product training, and selling skills.

Responsibilities
- Lead the development of product training curriculum by collaborating closely with marketing, market access, medical and sales leadership team.
- Partner with marketing, sales, and/or vendor to deliver an effective training launch plan and lead the development of sales training materials.
- Serves as primary training lead in the areas of selling skills, business skills, coaching, and sales training certification.
- Partner closely with sales leadership in the development of first line sales leadership/coaching curriculum.
- Partner closely with analytics and sales operations in the development of training to enhance the sales force business skills.
- Lead the search, development, implementation and serve as the internal subject matter expert for the selling skills model.
- Lead the delivery of product training content via new hire training, on-going training, and launch meetings.
- Work with IT and HR in establishing the appropriate learning platforms.
- Manage effectively outside training agency partners.
- Manage assigned budget.
- Facilitation experience and strong presentation skills required.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and collaborative environment; strong people skills and ability to work positively with others.
- Exceptional skills in proactivity, planning, prioritization, objective setting, meeting management, and plan execution.
- Organized and logical, with a high degree of flexibility to change direction when needed.
- Demonstrated high energy level, positive attitude, and collaboration.
- Thorough understanding of rare diseases business environments, including understanding of working with field partners (MSLs and FRMs)
- Ability to travel - 25% travel (including overnight travel)
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Life Sciences, or related fields
- 10 years of US pharmaceutical industry, including at least 5 years of US sales and at least 5 years of sales training experience.
- Prior experience as a sales manager and is highly preferred.
- Understanding of medical, legal, and regulatory review process is required.
- Experience in Instruction Design (analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation) preferred.
- Demonstrated coaching experience.
- Experience with launching rare disease products in the US.
- Experience in rare immunology is preferred.
- Experience in cell/gene therapy is desired.
