The Director, Forecasting Lead plays a crucial role in driving Intellia’s success by executing forecasting initiatives to guide proper commercial performance expectations setting.
This role will partner closely with commercial operations, market access, supply, finance, and marketing teams to assess the commercial opportunity for each pipeline asset. It involves refining the level of confidence of key assumptions and translating long-term forecasts into short-term launch forecasts for our late-stage gene editing pipeline assets.
This role will report to the VP of Commercial Operations.

Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and facilitate Intellia’s commercial forecasting process, including setting up internal timelines, defining ways of working within the cross-functional team, and facilitating internal readouts with program teams and the leadership team.
- Identify areas for improvement in existing forecast models, including evolving long-term forecasts into launch forecasts.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to map insight gaps and inform the confidence level of assumptions.
- Work closely with various internal stakeholders to incorporate the latest thinking related to launch timelines, LOEs, and the impact of new competitive entries.
- Create short-term monthly forecasts quarterly, combining data trends and assumptions to set commercial goals and support strategic and tactical business decisions.
- Develop innovative approaches to appropriately forecast one time therapy annual long-range planning process.
- Develop business cases to support the internal assessment of strategic initiatives, such as quantifying the impact of indication expansion and new clinical studies.
- Collaborate with sales operations to translate national goals into regional and territory sales targets.
- Work closely with the supply chain team to establish Intellia’s SOP processes for manufacturing and inventory management.
- Build an excel-based market model to forecast pipeline uptake and project market evolution of its competitors.
- Prepared both formal and ad hoc analyses on market trends, competitors, product performance, market opportunities, and risks.
- Model impact of contracting changes to support Market Access scenario planning.
- Develop tools to monitor brand performance and executive reports to the leadership team
- Results-driven self-starter with a strong sense of accountability, performance orientation, and the ability to collaborate effectively across functional teams
- Track record of successfully supporting senior leadership with U.S. market forecasting and analytics
- Strong strategic agility with the ability to analyze complex business issues, adapt to evolving market and competitive dynamics, and establish proper objectives.
- Strong presentation skills with ability to distil and summarize information for presentation to Senior Leadership.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and collaborative environment; strong interpersonal skills and ability to work positively with others.
- Exceptional skills in proactivity, planning, and project/meeting management.
- Organized and logical, with a high degree of flexibility to change direction when needed.
- BA/BS in a quantitative field required.
- 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry with strong focus in the US market.
- At least 5 years of experience in forecasting, including rare diseases required.
- Experience in cell/gene therapy, rare immunology desired.
