How You Will Achieve More With Intellia

The Insights, Analytics and Forecasting Lead will play a critical role in the launch and success of Intellia’s commercial organization. Reporting to the VP of Commercial Operations, this role will be responsible for defining, building and executing the necessary insights, analytics and forecasting capabilities to guide the commercial strategy, measure performance and provide appropriate performance expectations for the commercial organization. By partnering closely with commercial operations, market access, supply, finance, and marketing teams they will also be tasked with assess the commercial opportunity for each pipeline asset, which involves refining the confidence levels of key assumptions and translating long-term expectations into short-term launch forecasts for our late-stage gene editing pipeline assets.

Additionally, the incumbent will need to work cross-functionally within a matrix environment comprised of internal and external stakeholders to achieve organizational, commercial and operational excellence aligned to the organization’s goals. The Insights, Analytics and Forecasting Lead will need to function as a leader and executer, as Intellia continues to build and grow their commercial organization.

Responsibilities

Forecasting

  • Develop, implement and facilitate Intellia’s commercial forecasting process, including establishing internal timelines, project plans, cross-functional ways of working and leading readouts with leadership and program teams.
  • Lead the development and ongoing ownership of Intellia’s commercial forecast models, including market-based models to forecast pipeline uptake and project market evolution of competitive products while establishing short-term monthly forecast to support commercial goal setting and strategic/tactical business decisions.
  • Support annual long-range planning process by developing innovative approaches to confidently forecast for onetime therapies in addition to identifying improvements and enhancements to evolve existing long-term forecast, into a launch forecast.
  • Partner cross functionally to support scenario planning by modeling the impact of internal and external factors such as contracting with market access, launch timelines, new competitive entrances and LOEs.
  • Continually maintain and refine forecast models with latest information, assumptions and data.
  • Act as the primary interface and lead cross-function teams to gain alignment on forecast inputs and assumptions with clear documentation.
  • Partner closely with the supply chain team to establish Intellia’s SOP processes for manufacturing and inventory management.
  • Develop business cases to support the internal assessment of strategic initiatives, such as quantifying the impact of indication expansion and new clinical studies.
  • Partner with sales and operations to translate commercial goals and objectives into subnational targets.

Insights & Analytics

  • Define and build Intellia’s commercial analytics capabilities that clearly identify and communicate insights, strategic business implications and actionable recommendations.
  • Lead the integration of insights and analysis by leveraging predictive advanced analytical models and techniques from a variety of primary and secondary data sources to provide actionable insights, opportunities, risks and strategic assessments.
  • Extract, mine and synthesize secondary data analysis to understand patient/customer journeys, therapy utilization and market landscape to guide strategic decisions.
  • Uncover business insights by asking challenging questions, developing hypotheses and drawing analytical conclusions to provide actionable intelligence to relevant cross-functional stakeholders to support business performance and planning.
  • Monitor and communicate timely market, environmental and competitive activity to provide proactive analysis on the potential impact and implications.
  • Lead the development and evolution of launch, brand and executive performance reporting.
  • Support the assessment of commercial strategies and tactics to quantify ROI and make recommendations to optimize the use of existing/future resources
  • Partner with Sales and operations to support the optimization of customer segmentation, targeting, alignment, call planning and resource allocation.
  • Partner with technology and operational teams to ensure systems are capturing and processing the necessary data to facilitate proper analytic.

About You

  • Results-driven self-starter with a strong sense of accountability, performance orientation, and the ability to collaborate effectively across functional teams.
  • Track record of successfully supporting senior leadership with U.S. market forecasting and analytics.
  • Displays a clear understanding of secondary data sources attributes, strengths and gaps to provide conclusions and recommendations
  • Strong strategic agility with the ability to analyze complex business issues, adapt to evolving market and competitive dynamics, and establish proper objectives.
  • Proven ability to generate insights, interpret data, develop KPIs and leverage advanced predictive analytical models to influencing across the commercial organization, and proactively communicating key insights and recommendations from an array of data points.
  • Management and oversight of functional budget and resourcing
  • Lead a hybrid internal/external team focusing on skill development and personal coaching.
  • Strong presentation skills with ability to distil and summarize information for presentation to Senior Leadership.
  • Operates in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and collaborative environment; strong interpersonal skills and ability to work positively with others.
  • Exceptional skills in proactivity, planning, and project/meeting management.
  • Organized and logical, with a high degree of flexibility to change direction when needed.
  • BA/BS in a quantitative field required.
  • 10 years of life science industry or relevant consulting experience with strong focus in the US market.
  • At least 5-7 years of direct experience in forecasting and insights generation.
  • Experience in cell/gene therapy, rare immunology desired.
  • Commercial launch experience.
  • Proven track record of successfully partnering cross functionally to build and lead the establishment of a new function and organizational capabilities.
  • Knowledge and experience with pharmaceutical primary and secondary data sources.
  • In-depth understanding and experience building advanced analytic techniques to assess strategic business issues/opportunities with demonstrated results that lead to successful product launches.
  • Experience in data visualization and analytics solutions deployment in patient advanced analytics & AI scope.
