Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced AWS Certified Cloud Operations & Optimization Engineer to conduct a comprehensive stability assessment of our retail wireless systems deployed on the AWS cloud. This role requires a deep understanding of AWS services, infrastructure management, and optimization principles, coupled with a strong background in retail wireless operations. You will be responsible for analyzing our existing AWS architecture, identifying potential bottlenecks, vulnerabilities, and areas for improvement, and providing actionable recommendations to enhance system stability and performance.
Responsibilities
- Stability Assessment: Conduct a thorough stability assessment of our retail wireless systems deployed on AWS, including infrastructure, applications, and data pipelines.
- Architecture Review: Analyze the current AWS architecture, identifying potential single points of failure, scalability limitations, and areas for optimization.
- Performance Monitoring & Analysis: Implement and utilize AWS monitoring tools (e.g., CloudWatch, X-Ray) to collect and analyze performance metrics, identify anomalies, and troubleshoot issues.
- Reliability & Resilience: Design and implement strategies to enhance system reliability and resilience, including implementing fault tolerance, disaster recovery, and high availability solutions.
- Automation & Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop and maintain IaC using tools like CloudFormation or Terraform to automate infrastructure provisioning and management.
- Documentation & Reporting: Create detailed documentation of the assessment findings, recommendations, and implementation plans.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, network engineers, and business stakeholders, to implement and validate solutions.
- Retail Wireless (Cloud Native) Expertise: Apply knowledge of retail wireless systems and operations to understand the unique challenges and requirements of the environment.
- AWS Best Practices: Stay up-to-date with AWS best practices and emerging technologies, and apply them to improve system performance and efficiency.
AWS Certifications:
- Required: AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional or AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional.
- Preferred: AWS Certified Advanced Networking - Specialty, AWS Certified Security - Specialty, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate.1
- Minimum 5 years of experience in AWS cloud operations and infrastructure management.
- Proven experience in conducting stability assessments and performance optimization of complex systems.
- Strong understanding of AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, Lambda, CloudWatch, and others.
- Experience with IaC tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)2 is a plus.
- Experience with retail wireless systems is highly desired.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.3
- Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
- Knowledge of security best practices.
- Experience with specific retail wireless technologies (e.g., RAN, Core Network, OSS/BSS).
- Experience with specific monitoring tools used in the retail wireless space.
- Experience with large scale data processing.
