Mission-Focused Software Solutions Engineer (DevOps/Python) - Fully Cleared

We are seeking a Level 2 Software Engineer (SWE) to join our team. This position offers the opportunity to design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and sustain a mission-focused containerized enterprise web application in a Kubernetes environment. You will collaborate closely with Product Owners, System Engineers, and Software Engineers to create cutting-edge solutions that align with mission objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance specifications
• Design and develop new software or modify existing applications to enhance functionality
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software into new or modified systems or operating environments
• Develop, implement, and troubleshoot RESTful APIs for seamless system communication
• Create containerized applications and services using Docker, and manage deployments in a Kubernetes environment
• Leverage CI/CD principles and tools such as GitLab CI to ensure efficient and reliable software deployment
• Perform quality control on developed software, ensuring adherence to performance and functional standards
• Write or review technical documentation for software and system processes
  
  

Required Skills

Key Technologies and Skills

• Proficiency with Linux CLI and Bash scripting
• Recent software development experience using Python
• Familiarity with the Django Web framework or willingness to learn
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker
• Proficiency with SQL technologies, including MySQL
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design and development
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools, such as GitLab CI
• Proficiency with Git for version control
  
  

Desired Skills

• Experience with the Celery Task Scheduler
• Knowledge of Reverse Proxies such as NGINX and HAProxy
• Familiarity with container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes
• Experience with the Atlassian Suite, including Jira and Confluence
• Basic understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and JavaScript frameworks like React
  
  

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree: In Computer Science or related discipline, plus three (3) years of experience as a SWE in programs of similar scope, type, and complexity
• Bachelor’s Degree: In Computer Science or related discipline, plus five (5) years of experience as a SWE in programs of similar scope, type, and complexity
• No Degree Alternative: Seven (7) years of experience as a SWE in programs of similar scope, type, and complexity
• Clearance:TS/SCI with Polygraph
• Citizenship:Must be a U.S. Citizen
  
  

Compensation Range:$155,000.00 - $205,000.00 *

• The salary range provided reflects an estimate based on current market trends and may be adjusted based on factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications. The final offer will be tailored after a thorough evaluation of the candidate’s background and suitability for the role.
