A CNC machine operator uses a computer-controlled machine to process parts from a variety of materials.
They may also set up and maintain the equipment.
Responsibilities Program the machine using geometric code (G-code) Load and unload raw materials
Set up and adjust the machine Perform functions like drilling, cutting, and shaping Inspect the work area and machinery
Perform light maintenance on the equipment
Ensure the machines operate safely and in accordance with company guidelines
Record machine actions and production and quality logs Communicate logistics issues
Other skills Knowledge of the machine's software and hardware
Ability to read blueprints and translate them into dimensions for production
Ability to use precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures
Ability to follow company policies and safety protocols
Ability to use proper handling techniques
Must pass a background check and drug test.
