Job Description

This role offers a hybrid / flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.

The Treasury Management team at U.S. Bank is seeking a detail-oriented Senior SQL Server Database Developer / Administrator (80% developing / 20% Admin experience). Responsibilities include gathering business requirements, designing database structures, writing SQL code, working with web development team, handles testing, reporting, back-up, and restores. Monitors performance and performs database training and assists application developers with researching performance issues and application bugs.

Database Development and Administration (preferably SQL Server)
Application Development (Database Only)
Experience in setting up backups, restores, recovery models, database shrink operations

Main Responsibilities :

Monitoring and maintaining the databases that support applications being developed

Making enhancements to certain applications supported by the group within the bank

Additional server maintenance. Ensure operation system is up to standard

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

At least 6 years' experience with tools, facilities and techniques for managing and administering data

Preferred Skills / Experience

3 years' experience performing Database Development and Administration (preferably SQL Server)

2 years experience working on a development team : gathering requirements, designing and building databases, working with application team to build the interface between the application and users, and testing the application and database processes.

Experience in setting up backups, restores, recovery models, database shrink operations, DBCC commands, Replication, testing of backups to ensure we can meet the business’ recovery time.

Experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory

Experience with Installing and configuring SQL Servers and apply service packs as needed.

Experience troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking, connectivity issues, security issues etc.

Ability to work closely with Application development personnel to assure that the design and structure of the database works with the application.

This is a “hands-on” position requiring solid technical skills (developing), as well as, excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
