In general, the work will involve FOIA and document management responsibilities, including organizing records, entering information into agency software, and reviewing/correcting supporting documentation for the FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) team. The Assistant needs to be technically savvy, experienced with creating Excel spreadsheets, and a quick learner on new software. This is a potential, multi-year contract we are currently pursuing.

Job Duties
Compensation: From $50,000 to $70,000 per year

Job Duties
- Provide FOIA-related support services for document and records management for a litigation and/or privacy team. a
- Redact personally identifiable information (PII) following the provided Instruction Guide and training
- Provide redacted score sheets in one merged file to attorneys and paralegals on the first of each month
- Review e-mail messages that are potentially considered responsive records, and respond to these inquiries received via FOIA requests.
- Assist with gathering open FOIA/Privacy files and conduct assessments as needed
- Create, review, submit and track entries in the database application
- Redact e-mail messages, as necessary.
- Must be a US Citizen and able to pass a Public Trust Level background check
- Bachelors Degree preferred (Equivalent prior military experience may be substituted)
- Must be willing to sign a confidentiality and non-disclosure agency agreement
- Must have 2-5 years of related experience
- Technically savvy
- Knowledge in or administrative support practices and correspondence procedures necessary for applying spelling, punctuation, capitalization, grammar, required formats and style requirements to correct errors in prepared materials.
- The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with management and staff at the highest levels of the Department, external government officials, and private industry.
- Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.
