The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a security specialist for an organization with subordinate organizations below them to protect resources from espionage, terrorism, and threats of unauthorized disclosure and / or compromise of information or material considered vital to the organization's mission interests, national defense or national security. This is a GG-12 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-12 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-12 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS / GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :
Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include knowledge of a wide range of concepts, principles and practices in security administration and intelligence, such as would be gained through extensive graduate study or experience, and skill in applying this knowledge to difficult and complex work assignments or a comprehensive, intensive, practical knowledge of Information and Personnel Security. Note : Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs) :
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and / or competencies in the following areas :
- Knowledge of a wide range of security specialties, concepts, principles, criteria, requirements, technology, and practices.
- Knowledge of the intelligence enterprise to support and promote information sharing and strategies.
- Knowledge of required security training concepts, programs, procedures, and practices to assist managers in establishing and operating internal security programs.
- Skill in the use of analytical principles, practices, and techniques to review and evaluate security programs to meet mission requirements and improve the security program for the organization.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and accurately.
- Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
