RF Communications & Networks Engineer – Networks and Cyber Security
Location: Rome, NY 13441 (this position will NOT be based in the Rockville MD office)
Position Overview
IAI is looking for self-motivated RF communications/network engineers at mid and senior levels who are interested in working in a highly agile and dynamic R&D, technology transition and product development environment. Candidates will work collaboratively on the Networks and Security (NAS) team as well as supporting the development team to refine research and products in the areas of RF communications/networking systems development, mesh networking, software defined radio, software defined networking, and wideband HF. US citizenship is required for this position.

Job Duties
Exact job duties will vary depending on experience/interest:
- Develop novel approaches to maximizing communications throughput for legacy communications (e.g. wideband HF)
- Develop representative communication channel models for various parts of the spectrum for use in simulation/emulation and analysis
- Develop/analyze networking approaches/techniques for congested and contested spectrum
- Design, develop, test software defined network approaches for communication constrained environments
- Explore/develop communications systems in new spectral bands (>100GHz)
- RF communications systems research, development, experimentation
- Software defined radio research, development, experimentation
- Software defined networking research, development, experimentation
- Mesh networking/routing
- Strong written and communication skills
- 3-5 years of experience in related technologies
- Ability to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance (US citizenship required)
- Bachelors or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
