JD ID# : 141407 This role from a top e-commerce company. We are seeking a Senior DBA Tech lead to manage and oversee databases and distributed systems. In this role, you will primarily work with MySQL and other DBs. You will report to the Head of DB / Architect and have regular opportunities to debrief the CTO. You will operate in large-scale, mission-critical environments with zero downtime. The DB Reliability Engineering team is composed of DBAs, SREs, and Systems Engineers, all working towards the goal of delivering highly available data services at a global scale. The team is focused on building a reliable, performant, and secure database infrastructure through effective use of automation. Additionally, the team is responsible for designing new architectures and scalability solutions to meet evolving business and data processing demands. This hybrid role requires 5-6 hours in the office from Monday to Thursday, with remote work on Fridays or when handling on-call or incident response duties. As this is an operational position, availability for urgent matters, including incident response during evenings and holidays, is expected. Compensated time off will be provided on the next business day for any off-hours work. Key Responsibilities : Reliability : Ensure the reliability and efficiency of database infrastructure, prioritizing system capacity, stability, and strict adherence to reliability standards and recovery procedures. On-call : Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, address performance bottlenecks, and ensure system high availability during scheduled on-call rotations. Incident Management : Oversee monitoring, backups, performance tuning, and failure recovery for database systems. Triage and resolve database issues, manage incidents through to resolution, and implement preventive measures to avoid. Nice to have : Experience with distributed systems, big data, and SRE practices, including technologies like Kubernetes and Docker / Containers.
