The Skilled Machine Technician independently operates automated high-speed lithium-ion battery production machines within a clean-room environment.

Skilled Machine Technician Essential Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED) or 1-2 years of prior experience in the functional area required
• Proficient in the English language, encompassing adeptness in reading, writing, and verbal communication
• Prior 1-2 years Machine Operator and/or Skilled Machine Technician experience in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated proficiency in sub-assemblies, drive units, and equipment rebuilds
• Experience with preventative maintenance and 4S or 5S safety protocols 

Skilled Machine Technician Responsibilities:

• Complying with and promoting adherence to safety policies and procedures during the execution of responsibilities.
• Responsible for the independent operation of multiple production machines to ensure continuous and uninterrupted performance, including implementing proactive measures, diagnosing and resolving operational issues, and executing machine recovery procedures as necessary.
• Executing advanced proactive and reactive maintenance activities such as Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), thorough cleaning, tensioning, pressure adjustments, and equipment modifications.
• Diligently monitoring operational processes, ongoing visual inspections, and quality assessments are crucial to meeting our predetermined acceptance standards, which are essential to our operations.
• Maintaining a clean and secure work environment following the 6S principles (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, Safety) while demonstrating a thorough understanding of departmental workflows, processes, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with and implementing work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), particularly when assigned the task of creating essential documentation following specific requirements.
• Facilitating the transfer of knowledge and expertise through direct peer-to-peer training.
• Responsible for engaging in clear and effective verbal and written communication with colleagues to reinforce our dedication to the PECNA High-Performance Culture.
• Ability to meet the physical demands and the PPE requirements of the role

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:

To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees’, wearing PPE is a possibility and includes equipment such as a full NFPA Cal Suits, Cotton Hi-Viz Uniform, EH Boots, Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator.
