Position Overview:
We are seeking an HR Director with deep expertise in state and federal employee rights regulations, especially in highly regulated states such as California and New York.
This role is pivotal in building foundational HR systems, ensuring compliance, and supporting our growing workforce. As the HR Director, you will work independently to establish and implement policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with our strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct a full compliance audit and address any gaps to ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations, with a focus on overtime, breaks, FMLA, and other employee rights in highly regulated states.
- Develop and implement systems, policies, and procedures for hiring, onboarding, offboarding, payroll, and benefits management.
- Collaborate with the team for payroll and benefits administration.
- Oversee performance review and management processes, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
- Manage corrective actions and terminations with professionalism and discretion.
- Collaborate across teams to align HR strategies with organizational goals in a matrix reporting structure.
- Support major hiring initiatives for 2025 and beyond to accommodate rapid growth.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Management, Communication, or a related field preferred.
- At least 5 years of progressive HR experience, including compliance, policy development, and performance management.
- Familiarity with HRIS platforms, payroll systems, and benefits management software.
- Strong understanding of nationwide HR regulations and global workforce considerations.
- Proven expertise in navigating complex regulatory environments in highly regulated states.
