Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Alarm Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in low voltage systems, including fire alarms and security systems. This role requires hands-on experience with field service, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work independently in various environments. As an Alarm Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and inspection of alarm systems to ensure they meet safety standards and client specifications.
Duties
- Install, maintain, and repair alarm systems, including fire alarms and security systems.
- Conduct routine inspections of alarm systems to ensure functionality and compliance with safety regulations.
- Utilize power tools and hand tools effectively for installation and maintenance tasks.
- Collaborate with construction teams during the installation phase to ensure proper integration of alarm systems.
- Provide technical support and training to clients on system operation and features.
- Prepare detailed reports on inspections, installations, and repairs performed.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and regulations related to alarm systems.
Requirements
- Proven experience in field service related to alarm systems or similar low voltage applications.
- Proficiency with power tools and hand tools used in installation and repair tasks.
- Familiarity with fire alarm systems, including knowledge of relevant codes and standards.
- Experience with CAD software for system design is a plus.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
- Previous experience in fire alarm sales or alarm system sales is advantageous but not required.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and be willing to travel to various job sites as needed.
