TITLE: SR 2. Electric Technician
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
The Electrical Technician is responsible for electrical, electronics, and maintenance of all equipment. Performs other duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Industrial maintenance degree or similar from a state certified technical school or community college is required. Completion of a 4-year electrical apprenticeship can be substituted
- 10 years of experience in industrial electronics minimum is required
- Basic computer knowledge
- Must have good communication skills
- Experience with PLC controls and variable speed drives
- Must be able and willing to work overtime, weekends and evenings as needed.
- Also must be able to work on-call as needed
- Must be able to read electrical schematics
- The ability to read blueprints and mechanical drawings is a plus
- Can work with limited supervision (ie. night shift)
- Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary
- Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- All skills, knowledge and job duties of Electrical Technician Sr.I.
- Fill in for Electrical Supervisor as needed.
- Troubleshoot and repair PCs.
- Troubleshoot and repair PLC (S5/S7) issues.
- Commission micromaster drives for simple applications.
- Replace complex control components with new or different components.
- Program Sick laser scanners.
- Set up and replace light curtains.
- Replace and set up safety relays, simple drives, temperature controllers, soft starts and HMI panels.
- Assists Maintenance technician in the lubrication and repair of mechanical equipment
- Maintain all equipment in good running order
- Ensure that job site is clean and free of hazards
- Maintains good housekeeping and safety practices when running equipment
- Interacts and communicates with Production supervisor during shift and assist on production line when needed
- Maintains professional certifications and keeps updated on all procedures and policy changes; keeps training up to date
- Operates all maintenance equipment safely, follows LOTO procedures at all times
WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:
- Manufacturing Environment
- Ability to work in varying temperatures (cold and hot)
- Loud noise
