TITLE: Mechanical Technician A
POSITION OBJECTIVE: This position is responsible for lubrication, preventative maintenance, and repair of all equipment. Performs other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Technical school or Associates degree preferred but not required in Industrial Maintenance or 3 years of experience in Industrial Maintenance
Knowledge and proper use of hand, power, and shop tools
Basic knowledge of industrial utility systems
Must be able to troubleshoot and complete tasks with limited supervision
Must demonstrate mechanical understanding with minimal instruction
Must be self-motivated and self-directed
Must be able to identify and follow safe practices and LOTO / confined space procedures
Good written and oral communication, organized record keeping and documentation
Must have basic knowledge of rigging, forklift and moving / setting motors and machinery
Must be willing to advance in skill level, be willing to take training courses if necessary
Basic welding and pipefitting skills
Basic understanding and interpretation of mechanical drawings and prints
Can maintain the daily, weekly, monthly checks and associated documentation
Must be able to utilize AMSC’s CMMS systems
Knowledgeable of the plants utility systems
Proficient at troubleshooting and making effective repairs in a timely manner
Knowledgeable of the silo and material transfer systems
Knowledgeable of the spare parts system and parts locations
Proficient at performing PM’s and keeping good documentation
Continuing skill level increase and training if needed
Demonstrates completing requests from production with little to no instruction or supervision in a timely manner
Elevated mechanical understanding and abilities
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Repair and upkeep of all production and production support equipment, auxiliary systems including silos and material transfer systems, facility compressed air and process water systems, dust collection systems, reclaim equipment and associated material transfer systems, daily checks, housekeeping in shop and parts storage areas
Complete pm’s and keep accurate documentation, building and grounds maintenance and upkeep where applicable.
All emergency equipment will be routinely checked and repaired where applicable, repair welding, pipefitting, concrete repair, plumbing and carpentry as needed
In addition to mechanical responsibilities the maintenance tech mechanics can be called on to assist electrical techs, mechanical contractors, safety manager requests as needed and other tasks assigned by supervision or management
