TITLE: Electrical Engineer
POSITION OBJECTIVE: The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the electrical aspects of our manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance with industry standards. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize production processes, troubleshoot electrical issues, and implement improvements to enhance productivity, and product quality.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related filed.
Proven experience in electrical engineering within a manufacturing environment, preferably in plastic or paper.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, controls and instrumentation, including PLC programming and HMI design.
Proficiency in CAD software for electrical design and layout (E.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks Electrical).
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (e.g., NEC, IEC, UL).
Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate efficiently with cross-functional teams.
Demonstrate project management abilities, including planning, execution, and implementation.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design and Implementation:
Develop and implement electrical systems and controls for manufacturing processes, equipment, and machinery. Ensure designs meet project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Process Optimization:
Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify opportunities to optimize and efficiency improvement. Purpose and implement electrical upgrades, modifications, and automation solutions to enhance productivity and reduce downtime.
Troubleshooting:
Investigate and resolve electrical issues in manufacturing equipment and systems including trouble shooting circuitry, controls, and instrumentation. Collaborate with maintenance technicians to diagnose and repair electrical failures promptly.
Quality Assurance:
Implement quality control measures to ensure consistency and reliability in manufacturing processes. Conduct inspections and audits to verify compliance with electrical standards and specifications.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate documentation of electrical designs, specifications, and modifications. Generate reports detailing performance metrics, process improvements, and project updates for management review.
Collaboration:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, process engineers, and production personnel, to coordinate project activities and ensure alignment with overall manufacturing objectives.
Provide technical guidance and planning to maintenance electrician for performing preventative maintenance.
Training and support:
Provide training and technical support to manufacturing staff on electrical systems, equipment operations, and troubleshooting techniques. Foster a culture of continuous learning and skill development within the organization.
Available for 24-hour consultation to maintenance electrician for equipment abnormals.
Comply with plant safety regulations and good manufacturing practices.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by plant manager or maintenance manager.
May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
