What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Tech I position at Inteplast Group?
POSITION OBJECTIVE: Performs a variety of skilled mechanical and maintenance repair and construction related tasks. Performs tasks in carpentry, masonry, painting, plumbing, heating, electrical, appliance, and maintenance under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent.
3 years of maintenance experience preferable on Plastics Extrusion equipment. Prefer related experience working with extrusion machinery and their support equipment (pull rolls, guillotine cutters, corona treatment, ovens, chillers, towers, compressors, pumps, power).
Good oral and written communication skills.
Self-initiative and strong follow up skills.
Willing to work various shifts and be on call when necessary.
Able to lift and handle 50 lb components.
Able to work in excessively loud and hot environments.
Able to pass a forklift qualification test.
Strong troubleshooting skills
Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task
Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safely comply with all written and verbal safety rules.
Examples: Wearing appropriate PPE, preventing tripping slipping hazards.
Maintains a strong professional floor appearance at all times by demonstrating good work ethics and good morale.
Hands on maintenance of all shift equipment to maintain proper efficiencies.
Conducts PMs and document work done.
Reviews project assignments weekly and perform tasks assigned.
Observes, reports, and resolves critical machine or safety issues when found.
Completes assigned projects and/or work orders.
Completes documentation of jobs done in a timely manner.
Performs other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:
Inside environmental conditions protected from weather conditions, not necessarily temperature conditions.
Outside environmental conditions, no effective protection from weather.
Inside and outside environments apply.
Subject to extreme cold; temperatures below 32 degrees for periods of more than one hour.
Subject to extreme heat; temperatures above 100 degrees for more than one hour.
Subject to noise, causing reason to shout in order to be heard above the noise level.
Subject to vibration, exposure, fluctuating movement of the body.
Subject to hazards such as moving machinery, electrical currents, falling debris, exposure to chemicals, gases, high heat or explosives.
Subject to unregulated atmospheric conditions caused by odors, fumes, gases, poor ventilation and dusts.
Subject to oils and other cutting fluids via touch or air.
