About This Position
The Cybersecurity Team within the Technology and Data Assurance (TTD/TDA) Division at the Technology and Transformation Department (TTD/TTD) is looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Applications Security Consultant.
You will work within a group of security-minded and enthusiastic team players leading the implementation and continuous improvement of the Bank's Application Security Program. Your responsibilities will focus on ensuring robust security practices throughout the software development lifecycle, fostering developer engagement, and aligning the program with evolving security trends and organizational objectives.

About This Position
The Cybersecurity Team within the Technology and Data Assurance (TTD/TDA) Division at the Technology and Transformation Department (TTD/TTD) is looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Applications Security Consultant.
You will work within a group of security-minded and enthusiastic team players leading the implementation and continuous improvement of the Bank's Application Security Program. Your responsibilities will focus on ensuring robust security practices throughout the software development lifecycle, fostering developer engagement, and aligning the program with evolving security trends and organizational objectives.
What you’ll do
- Drive the design, implementation, and management of the Application Security Program, ensuring alignment with industry standards and Bank priorities.
- Manage key elements of the Application Security program, including code security analysis (DAST, SAST, SCA) and developer security awareness training.
- Maintain and enforce security standards, hardening baselines, and guidelines, continuously adapting them to the evolving security landscape and conducting tests to evaluate compliance.
- Collaborate with enterprise architects, infrastructure administrators, and development teams to ensure security best practices are integrated into the development lifecycle.
- Establish and track security Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of the Application Security Program.
- Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization to advocate for application security.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in Computer Science or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role. Any of the following certifications are desired: CISSP, CISM, GRISC, Azure Security Engineer Associate, Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect, Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Certified Security Specialty.
- Experience: At least 2 years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, risk management, or secure application development. Desirable additional experience: hands-on experience with development practices in various programming languages and cloud platforms with an understanding of secure coding practices.
- Languages: Proficiency in English and one of the other Bank official languages (Spanish, French or Portuguese) is required.
- Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries.
- Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
- Type of contract: International Consultant Full-Time. 12 months (up to 36 months).
- Work Location: On site (Headquarters, Washington DC)
