About This Position

We seek a dynamic, innovative, resourceful, and reliable Outreach and Communications Associate at the Office of Ethics (ETH). You will support and expand innovative outreach, training, education, and communications activities and assist with data analytics.

You will work in the Outreach and Communications team, which is part of the Office of Ethics. ETH is responsible for providing advice and guidance to employees in the application and interpretation of the IDB Group's Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct (the "Code"), for investigating allegations of employee misconduct, for carrying out outreach, education, and training activities, and for the administration of the IDB Group's annual Declaration of Interests Program.

What You’ll Do

  • Coordinate, lead, and assist ETH in its outreach, communications, and training activities for all IDB Group employees and relevant third parties to explain ETH’s work and foster engagement with ETH services. This includes, but is not limited to, designing and implementing innovative training and communications campaigns and products (e.g., interactive presentations, ethics bulletins, videos, and learning programs on different topics); developing ethics E-Learning modules and other products; and adapting these to various types of media and audiences.
  • Develop and update an annual ETH communications strategy and action plan and identify and deploy innovative communications campaigns.
  • Manage the ETH website and other ETH communications avenues to explain ETH’s work, increase the presence of ethics messages in IDB Group internal communications, and foster engagement with ETH’s services.
  • Work collaboratively with the IDB Group Communications Department, other Departments, such as the Office of Ombuds and Mediation Services, and Employee Resource Groups on outreach, communications, and training partnerships.
  • Support the development, design, and production of the ETH Annual Report and other documents based on "lessons learned," trends and benchmarking exercises, and other relevant documents.
  • Deliver presentations on ethics issues to different audiences, including new employee on-boardings
  • Produce communications materials and coordinate with external vendors as needed.
  • Provide planning and logistical support in preparing events, including marketing and outreach products.
  • Assist with special events to promote ETH training and communications.
  • Support efforts to ensure compliance with mandatory employee programs (ethics training, Declaration of Interests).
  • Carry out other tasks on an as-needed basis to support ETH's work program, including providing administrative support and serving as audio and videoconference administrator.
  • Support the activities related to the annual Declaration of Interest (DoI) program, including, but not limited to, assistance with preparing the exercises and communications campaign.
  • Liaise with other ETH teams on projects and initiatives to promote synergies and messaging alignment.
  • Identify opportunities for and forge strategic partnerships inside the Bank to improve the ETH presence in the IDB Group, particularly in the country offices.
  • Research, compile, and analyze information relevant to ETH’s work and make recommendations for improvement, including but not limited to collaborating in benchmarking efforts focused on ethics/professional conduct topics.

What You’ll Need

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in Communications or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of progressive experience in communications preferred in compliance or business ethics areas.
  • Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.

  • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

Type con contract and duration

  • International: International staff contract, 36 months initially, renewable upon mutual agreement.
