About This Position
We are looking for a dynamic and proactive Operations Analyst. As an Operations Analyst you will support loan and project preparation, mentor the operational team, and ensure quality documentation. The role will also involve process improvement, monitoring effectiveness, and assisting with policy implementation.
You will work in the Connectivity, Markets, and Finance Division (CMF) part of the Institutions for Development Department (IFD). This Division is responsible for strengthening the capacity of the public financial sector to mobilize resources and catalyze capital for development. CMF focuses on effective capital market development and innovative financial structuring and solutions to facilitate private investment and ensure inclusive and sustainable development.

What you’ll do
- Support the preparation and processing of loans, technical cooperations and project completion reports, working collaboratively with the division’s front office, diverse team leaders and internal stakeholders.
- Mentor members of the operational team, facilitating training and promoting knowledge-exchange to strengthen operational expertise.
- Propose, build and monitor preparation of calendars ensuring the project teams understand and achieve the relevant milestones for instrument approval.
- Review operational documentation, to ensure quality of final product and accurate application of relevant guidelines and procedures.
- Lead the support for the preparation of operational reports and briefings
- Contribute to the review and improvement of internal processes to increase operational efficiency.
- Assist in the application of operational policies and processes, including those related to access to information and records management.
- Participate in the implementation of the division’s Development Effectiveness workplan.
- Support monitoring efforts for loans and technical cooperations.
- Perform other related tasks as required.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in economics, public policy, business administration or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role (Master’s desired).
- Experience: At least 2 years of progressive work experience in assisting teams throughout the entire project cycle, including data analysis, reporting, coordinating team communication and supporting execution. Experience within the IDB or other multilateral institutions is desirable. Understanding the IDB Group’s institutional strategy and priorities, operational activities and instruments is a strong plus.
- Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.

- Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

- International: International staff contract, 36 months initially, renewable upon mutual agreement.
