About This Position
We are looking for a strategic, motivated and experienced Social Infrastructure Specialist, who will be responsible for monitor the preparation and execution of social infrastructure project and promote the incorporation of the best practices in social infrastructure project management, so ensure quality, sustainability, resilience and innovation of project.
You will work in the Social Infrastructure Group (GIS in Spanish) part of Infrastructure and Energy Department. This GIS is responsible for advice and support different Divisions of IDB, who finance social infrastructure projects, and lead the knowledge about sustainability, resilience, and innovation in social infrastructure.

About This Position
We are looking for a strategic, motivated and experienced Social Infrastructure Specialist, who will be responsible for monitor the preparation and execution of social infrastructure project and promote the incorporation of the best practices in social infrastructure project management, so ensure quality, sustainability, resilience and innovation of project.
You will work in the Social Infrastructure Group (GIS in Spanish) part of Infrastructure and Energy Department. This GIS is responsible for advice and support different Divisions of IDB, who finance social infrastructure projects, and lead the knowledge about sustainability, resilience, and innovation in social infrastructure.
What you’ll do
- Support project preparation and execution by advising on best practices for social infrastructure project management, risk mitigation, and execution strategies.
- Monitor and evaluate infrastructure project performance, identifying risks, training needs, and areas for technical support to ensure successful implementation.
- Review and ensure quality of project designs, bid documents, and consultant deliverables, providing feedback as needed.
- Create tools and strategies to improve the performance of GIS work.
- Lead the technical and sectorial dialogue about trends and challenge of social infrastructure in the region.
- Promote innovation by integrating solutions such as BIM, Lean Construction, industrialized systems, sustainable certifications, energy efficiency, and climate adaptation measures.
- Develop and disseminate tools and lessons learned to improve planning, execution, and knowledge sharing in social infrastructure projects.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including construction companies, consulting firms, and other divisions of IDB, to address execution concerns and foster teamwork.
- Participate in missions and seminars, and perform other tasks as requested by INE
- Education: master’s degree in civil engineering, architecture or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role. Master or Certification in Project Management.
- Experience: At least four years of progressive experience related to the key responsibilities of the position. Experience in the design, planning, management, contracting, construction and supervision of engineering projects in the region. Experience in the implementation strategies to improve the monitoring and execution of a group of projects. Experience in health facilities projects is preferable.
- Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.

- Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
