Security personnel are to be certified and trained and will be assigned a variety of standing, sitting and walking posts.

Job Title: Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
Position Summary: The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) provides emergency medical care to sick or injured persons, ensuring proper treatment and arranging for transport to a medical facility when necessary. The EMT evaluates the nature and extent of the illness or injury and determines the appropriate course of medical action, based on the victim's statements, physical examination, and adherence to established emergency medical procedures.
Key responsibilities include:
- Administering medical treatment at the scene of an emergency, including applying splints, providing CPR, administering oxygen, treating minor wounds, and offering patient status updates to receiving medical personnel.
- Documenting and reporting all medical incidents as directed by the site Emergency Response Plan.
- Ensuring the safety and security of the General Motors facility by controlling access, screening visitors and employees, and monitoring entrances, exits, and parking.
- Conducting foot or vehicle patrols, inspecting high-risk areas, fire safety equipment, and ensuring the accessibility of emergency exits.
- Securing the scene of incidents or emergencies to preserve evidence, setting up barriers and signage, and providing information or direction to others as needed.
- Responding to various emergency situations, including fire, medical incidents, hazardous materials, and inclement weather, in alignment with General Motors Global Security standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; deviations must be approved by General Motors Global Security.
- At least one year of experience as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) preferred.
- Valid EMT Basic License required (EMT-1).
- Must meet and maintain any applicable governmental certification requirements for EMT-1.
- Ability to comply with security officer licensing and related regulations.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Capable of making quick, decisive decisions in emergency situations.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse group of people and across various levels within the organization.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate sound judgment.
- Knowledge of card access, security, and safety systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Ability to physically respond to emergency situations, including carrying out duties in stressful and high-pressure environments.
- Must maintain a professional and ethical demeanor, providing courteous interaction with all employees and visitors.
