What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vehicle Shuttle Operator position at Inter-Rail Transport, Inc.?
I. Description of Position
- Fundamentals of this position consist of driving vehicles to a designated area within a facility or to an offsite location as instructed, in a quality manner as to deliver a damage free product.
II. Qualifications Standards
- Individual must have a valid driver’s license and means of transportation to and from work. Must also be a team player, able to communicate effectively and have the flexibility of no set hours.
III. Organizational Relationships
- Shuttle crew members will report directly to immediate supervisor/facility manager/regional manager and/or general manager. IV. Job Requirements / Responsibilities
- Wear required uniform (coveralls), head protection, proper shoes, safety glasses, and other safety items as instructed.
- Physically able to climb into/out of the shuttle van.
- Safely drive a vehicle in a congested facility while understanding designated traffic patterns.
- Must know how to drive both automatic and manual transmissions. * Work in all kinds of weather conditions. Heat, Cold, Ice, Snow, etc.
- Available to work any day of the week, including Saturday, Sunday and Holidays as needed.
- Available to work irregular hours as needed. (Day, Nights)
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Have a valid driver’s license in accordance with insurance company’s requirements. * Submit to and pass a drug/alcohol screening, background check and e-railsafe
- Other tasks as assigned
- Obey all traffic laws while driving on the facility or on public roads.
