Job Summary
Arrive prior to load team to begin viewing brios, yard conditions, railroad software and planning loads/inbounds for the load team. Build efficient tracks and assign teams to them based on rail carrier, train, blocking order, age, and any other requests from management or TLS. Adjust loadlines in rail and truck based on plant build, yard capacity, high volume and auxiliary destinations. Assist in administrative work such as time sheets, scanning VINs, entering safety observations and other tasks as assigned. Complete various reports for management and TLS. Able to communicate via phone and email in an intelligent and professional manner. Office environment with some outdoor activities such as driving, walking loadlines required up to 50% of the time.
Duties
- Monitor inventory levels and manage materials handling to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
- Utilize transportation management systems to optimize deliveries and schedules.
- Conduct data analysis to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement within.
- Manage and ensuring compliance with safety regulations are followed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Skills
- Strong data analysis skills to interpret operational metrics and make informed decisions.
- Proficiency in transportation management systems for effective logistics coordination.
- Knowledge of materials management principles to ensure optimal inventory control.
