Safety & Compliance Officer
Position Description
Inter Technologies Corporation (ITC) is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Safety & Compliance Officer to develop, implement, and enforce safety protocols across all company operations. This role is critical in ensuring a safe work environment, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement in safety culture. The Safety & Compliance Officer will oversee safety audits, conduct training workshops (both hands-on and virtual), perform field visits, manage compliance reporting, and ensure adherence to ISO 9000, Avetta, Ecovadis, and OSHA standards. The ideal candidate should have experience in government safety programs, risk assessment, and industry safety regulations to drive a proactive and sustainable safety culture at ITC.
This position is hybrid, with up to 25% remote work, and requires frequent nationwide travel to job sites and warehouses to conduct audits, training, and compliance inspections. Travel may be required on short notice based on operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Safety Audits & Inspections
- Conduct scheduled and unscheduled safety audits across job sites, warehouses, and corporate offices.
- Develop and enforce risk mitigation strategies based on audit findings.
- Lead compliance inspections to meet OSHA, EMR / TRIR, Avetta, and Ecovadis standards.
- Maintain detailed records of audit results, incident reports, and corrective actions taken.
- Provide management with comprehensive reports on safety trends, compliance status, and improvement plans.

Key Performance Indicators
Reduction in Workplace Incidents : Achieve a year-over-year decrease in reportable safety incidents.
TRIR (Total Recordable Incident Rate) : Maintain at or below industry safety benchmarks or as required to maintain positive client relationships.
Safety Audit Compliance Score : Achieve and maintain 95% compliance across all job sites.
EMR (Experience Modification Rate) : Maintain at or below 1.10
Incident Response Time : Ensure all safety incidents are reported within 24 hours and investigated within 48 hours.
Training Completion Rate : Maintain 100% compliance for all employees in mandatory safety training.

Qualifications
Education & Certifications : Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, or related field preferred. Certifications in OSHA 30, OSHA 500, CSP, or CHST are highly desirable.
Experience : 5 years in workplace safety, regulatory compliance, or risk management. Government safety background is a plus.
Industry Knowledge : Strong understanding of ISO 9000, Avetta, Ecovadis, OSHA, EMR, and TRIR compliance requirements.
Technical Skills : Proficient in safety reporting software and digital compliance tools.
Travel Requirement : Ability to travel for field visits, inspections, and compliance audits as needed.
