Job Summary:
Assists in the preparation of accurate accounting records for the Company. This is a responsible nonsupervisory position. Duties include performing a variety of complex clerical and entry-level bookkeeping and accounting tasks, applying accepted procedures to the preparation and maintenance of accounting and other records.
Position reports to the Accounting Director.
Essential Functions:
· Prepares payroll and vendor checks; makes routine cost distributions; posts subject accounts.
· Prepares and posts accounting documents into accounting/payroll system, such as requisitions, timesheets, expense accounts and related operating reports.
· Answers phone, greets and directs visitors to appropriate departments; records incoming/outgoing mail
· Scans, files and maintains clerical records and reports that are pertinent to accounting and payroll operations. Prepares files for new fiscal year and audit.
· Maintains original Board of Directors records.
· Coordinates and sets up training, executive level meetings, and ITC sponsored events as directed by the Executive Director or Board of Directors.
· Assists in taking physical inventory.
· Maintains Vending records, inventories, and reconciles cash daily.
· Makes bank deposits and other errands as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities:
· Checks records and reports for clerical accuracy and conformance to departmental procedures in absence of the Accounting Director.
· Performs secretarial and other duties as assigned.
· Prepares summary of cost information for Accounting Director’s use in preparing financial statements/reports.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Knowledge of bookkeeping theories, practices and accepted office procedures.
· Ability to perform a volume of numerical detail work with speed and accuracy, to make difficult mathematical computations, basic knowledge of computerized accounting/payroll systems and software, banking software, copier/scanner, calculator by touch, fax machine and phone system.
· Ability to understand and follow complex oral and written instructions.
· Ability to prepare and file records in a systematic, neat, legible manner, with particular attention to detail.
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, officials and the general public.
· Ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
Education, Experience and Skills Required:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or equivalent experience.
· Basic understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.
· Experience with MIP Fund Accounting software (Payroll/Accounts Payable) preferred.
· Demonstrated competence in procurement, administration and management of federal programs and grants.
· Comprehensive knowledge in administering federal programs according to agency guidelines, as well as proficient verbal and written communication skills.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
