New Business Development Representative
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven New Business Development Representative to secure new clients and drive company growth. This individual will play a critical role in identifying and developing business opportunities that align with company objectives and customer needs. The ideal candidate is strategic, proactive, and well-versed in the transportation and logistics industry, particularly in truckload brokerage.
Working closely with the Director of Business Development, this person will establish relationships, negotiate contracts, and analyze market trends to optimize profitability. Strong organizational skills, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to adapt to industry changes are essential for success in this role.
- Develop and execute strategies to identify and secure new business opportunities.
- Cultivate relationships with potential clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Plan, coordinate, and follow up on sales communications, meetings, and industry events.
- Analyze market trends, including seasonal and regional freight demand, to negotiate competitive rates.
- Establish sales goals, quotas, and territories in collaboration with leadership.
- Monitor customer performance metrics and ensure compliance with contractual agreements.
- Proactively address potential client challenges, providing effective solutions.
- Resolve customer concerns and collaborate with operations teams to ensure satisfaction.
- Represent the company at industry conferences and trade association meetings.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of four years of experience in freight brokerage.
- Proven experience in customer sales within the logistics industry.
- Knowledge of refrigerated freight movement is a plus.
- Proficiency in creating reports, analyzing data, and using logistics management software.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
